Day 5: The Gift You Can't Earn

Here's the most liberating truth you'll ever hear: being right with God is not something you can earn - it's a gift you can only receive. No amount of good behavior, religious activity, or moral improvement can purchase what Christ has already freely given. This goes against everything our culture teaches us about earning our way to success and approval. But God's economy works differently. His gift of righteousness can't be bought, earned, or deserved. It can only be received through surrender and trust. There comes a moment when you must stop holding on to your old way of living and simply receive what God offers. You can come to Jesus just as you are - with your questions, your past, your sin, your uncertainty. When you do, what He did becomes yours. Your sin is forgiven, your debt is paid, and you are right with God. Because He lives, you can know this with absolute certainty and live in this freedom today.
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

God, help me to stop trying to earn what You've already given me as a gift. Teach me to live in the freedom of Your grace.
