Gospel Alignment: Day One

Sermon Video

Day 1: The Hub That Holds Everything Together‍ ‍

Devotional
Most of us treat the Gospel like a starting line. We cross it, we're saved, and then we move on to the real work of living the Christian life. But what if the Gospel was never meant to be left behind? What if it was meant to be the center of everything? Think of a wheel. Every spoke runs from the rim straight back to the hub. If the hub is solid, the wheel rolls true. The moment a spoke loses its connection to the center, the wobble starts. That wobble is not random. It is a signal. The Gospel is that hub. Every part of your life, your relationships, your habits, your fears, your ambitions, is meant to run straight back to what Christ has already done for you. Not what you are doing for Him. What He has already done for you. This is not a passive faith. It is actually the most active thing you can do, to keep returning to the truth that you are fully forgiven, fully accepted, and fully loved in Christ. Not because of your performance, but because of His. You do not have to earn your way to the center. You already belong there. And every day is an invitation to live from that place rather than toward it.

Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you,
which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved,
if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.
- 1 Corinthians 15:1-2

Reflection Question
In what area of your life are you living as though you still need to earn what Christ has already freely given you?

"The gospel is not the first step of the Christian faith that we move past,
but it’s the hub. It’s the very hub that we must keep returning to for freedom every step of the way."
— Pastor Mike Mura

Prayer
Father, thank You that the Gospel is not just where we begin but where we live. Help me to stop striving for what You have already secured for me in Christ, and teach me to return to that truth every single day. Amen.
