Day 5: The Danger of Tomorrow

Devotional
Felix's response to Paul's message is one of the most tragic in Scripture. He felt conviction, he trembled at the truth, but he chose delay over decision. "Go away for now," he said, "when I have a convenient time, I will call for you." As far as we know, that convenient time never came. How many people live in the deadly illusion of tomorrow? They feel God's Spirit stirring their hearts, they sense the truth of the gospel, but they think there will always be a better time to respond. Tomorrow, when life slows down. Next year, when things are more settled. Someday, when it feels more convenient.

But Scripture reminds us that today is the day of salvation. Not when you feel ready, not when circumstances align perfectly, not when it's more convenient—today. The conviction you feel right now may not be there tomorrow. The opportunity before you today may not come again.

If you've been putting off a decision about following Christ, don't wait. If you've been delaying obedience in some area of your life, don't assume tomorrow will be easier. If God is calling you to take a step of faith, to have a difficult conversation, or to make a change, respond today.

Felix lived in tomorrow, but tomorrow never came. Don't let that be your story.

For he says, “In a favorable time I listened to you,
    and in a day of salvation I have helped you.”
Behold, now is the favorable time;
behold, now is the day of salvation. - 2 Corinthians 6:2

Reflection Question
What decision or step of obedience have you been putting off, waiting for a more convenient time?

If you feel Conviction. If you feel the Lord stirring in your heart, don't delay.
Don't put it off for tomorrow,
because there's no guarantee that you'll feel that same conviction tomorrow.
— Pastor Mike Mura

Prayer
Lord, forgive me for the times I've delayed responding to Your call. Help me to say yes to You today, not tomorrow.
