Too Good to be Man-Made: Day 5
Day 5: The Gospel That Endures
Devotional
Paul's gospel has survived 2,000 years not because it was passed down through a game of telephone, but because it was written down by the man who received it directly from Christ. This isn't just another religious tradition that evolved over time - it's the preserved word of God, just as true today as when Paul first received it. Every movement of this gospel is a descending movement. God's initiative, God's action, God's grace reaching all the way down to where we are. From the Incarnation to the Cross to the Resurrection, God is the one moving toward us, not the other way around. This gospel doesn't belong to any denomination or human leader. It's not a Baptist gospel or a Protestant gospel - it's the Gospel of Jesus Christ, delivered from heaven and preserved across the centuries. Its power isn't diminished by time because its source is eternal. As we close this week of reflection, may every ladder of human achievement burn down, and may Christ alone receive all the glory. The good news isn't that we can climb to God, but that God has come down to us. Rest in that truth today.
But when he who had set me apart before I was born, and who called me by his grace,
was pleased to reveal his Son to me, in order that I might preach him among the Gentiles,
I did not immediately consult with anyone - Galatians 1:15-16
Reflection Question
How can you live today in the confidence that the gospel you've received is not human wisdom but God's eternal truth that will never change or fail?
“It's not a Baptist gospel, it's not a Protestant gospel. It's not Pastor Mike's gospel.
It's the Gospel of Jesus Christ, delivered from heaven, preserved across the centuries
and just as true today as the moment Paul first received it.” — Pastor Mike Mura
Prayer
Thank You, God, that Your gospel is unchanging and reliable. Help me rest in its truth and share its hope with others.
