Day 5: Same Gospel, Every Day

Devotional
Here is a question worth sitting with: if the gospel is what saved you, why do you treat it like something you have already moved past? So many Christians receive the good news of Jesus, step through the door of faith, and then spend the rest of their lives trying to grow by a completely different method. They swap grace for grit. They trade faith for effort. And then they wonder why they feel exhausted and unchanged. But the gospel is not just your starting point. It is your daily bread. The same news that brought you to Jesus is the news that keeps transforming you. There is not a beginner version and an advanced version. It is the same gospel, received again and again with fresh faith, going deeper every time. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. That means growth happens the same way salvation happened: by hearing the good news and believing it. Not once, but continually. You do not need a new program or a more intense strategy. You need to hear, again today, that Jesus died for your sins, rose from the dead, and is alive and for you right now. Hear it. Believe it. Let it go deeper. That is how you grow. That is how you become the person God made you to be. Not by trying harder, but by trusting more.

So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ. - Romans 10:17

Reflection Question
How would your daily rhythms of prayer, Scripture reading, and worship change if you approached them not as disciplines to complete but as opportunities to hear the gospel and believe it more deeply?

"The gospel isn't just for unsaved people. The Gospel is for Christians." - Pastor Mike Mura

Prayer
Lord, thank You that the gospel is not just for the moment I was saved but for every day of my life. Teach me to return to it again and again, and let it go deeper in me until I look more and more like Your Son.
