God at Work — Day 5
Day 5: Open Hearts, Open Homes
Devotional
When Jesus transforms our hearts, He often transforms our homes too. A heart opened to God's love naturally leads to doors opened in hospitality. Our homes become more than just private retreats; they become outposts for God's kingdom work. Whether it's hosting a Bible study, offering a meal to a neighbor, or providing temporary shelter to someone in need, our homes can become powerful tools for ministry. True hospitality isn't about perfect decorations or gourmet meals - it's about creating spaces where people can encounter God's love.
Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace - 1 Peter 4:9-10
Reflection Question
How could you use your home more intentionally as a place of ministry and Gospel hospitality?
“Let your home be more than a place of retreat.
Make it a place of kingdom ministry.
Use your dinner table for discipleship.
Open your guest room or even your couch for Gospel hospitality.
Invite others into your life, not just your living room.”
~Pastor Mike Mura
Prayer
