Hope Brighter Than The Sun: Day 5
Day 5: Almost Persuaded
Devotional
King Agrippa's response to Paul's testimony reveals a dangerous spiritual condition: being almost persuaded. After hearing Paul's compelling account of Christ's resurrection and transforming power, Agrippa said, "Do you think that in such a short time you can persuade me to be a Christian?" He was intellectually engaged but spiritually resistant. Many people today find themselves in Agrippa's position. They acknowledge the evidence for Christianity, appreciate its moral teachings, and even admire Jesus as a historical figure. But they stop short of surrendering their lives to Him. The resurrection of Jesus is rooted in historical fact - there's an empty tomb that anyone can go and see. Yet for many, the issue isn't really a lack of evidence; it's a resistance of the heart. Because if Jesus is alive, then you're not in charge - you are accountable. Being almost persuaded is still being lost at the end of the day. The gap between "almost" and "completely" is the difference between eternal life and eternal separation from God. But here's the encouraging truth: the same Jesus who pursued Paul still pursues hardened people today. He still opens eyes. No one is too far gone, too resistant, or too set in their ways for God's transforming power.
Now when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked.
But others said, “We will hear you again about this.” - Acts 17:32
Reflection Question
Is there any area of your life where you're "almost persuaded" but still holding back from complete surrender to Christ?

Prayer
Jesus, help me move from being almost persuaded to being completely surrendered. Remove any resistance in my heart that keeps me from fully following You.
