Hope That Cannot Be Silenced: Day One

Sermon Video

Day 1: The Power of the Gospel

Devotional
In Acts 16, Paul and Silas faced severe persecution in Philippi. After freeing a slave girl from demonic possession, they were falsely accused, beaten, and thrown into prison. Despite their dire circumstances, they prayed and sang hymns to God at midnight. Their worship was not a plea for rescue but a declaration of their freedom in Christ. This story reminds us that the Gospel of Jesus brings power, endurance, joy, and unity. No matter how dark our situation may seem, the power of Jesus is greater than the power of evil and darkness.

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities,
against the cosmic powers over this present darkness,
against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. - Ephesians 6:12

Reflection Question
How can you remind yourself of the power of Jesus in your darkest moments?

Prayer
Lord, help me to remember that Your power is greater than any darkness I face. Give me the strength to sing and pray even in my darkest moments, knowing that I am free in Christ. Amen.
