Hope That Cannot Be Silenced: Day Two

Sermon Video

Day 2: God's Sovereignty Over Evil

Devotional
Paul and Silas's story in Acts 16 shows us that Satan's schemes are real, but they are no match for Christ. Even when they were falsely accused and imprisoned, God's sovereignty prevailed. The miraculous earthquake that freed them was a testament to God's power. Satan is evil, but he's on a leash. He cannot act outside the sovereign purposes of God. This truth gives us hope and assurance that no matter what evil we face, God is always in control.

Our God is in the heavens; he does all that he pleases. - Psalm 115:3

Reflection Question
How does knowing that God is sovereign over all things change your perspective on the challenges you face?

“Satan is evil, but he's on a leash. He cannot act outside the sovereign purposes of God.
And while evil is always evil, our God is always good,
weaving even the worst of it into his wise and perfect plan.” — Pastor Mike Mura

Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your sovereignty over all things. Help me to trust in Your perfect plan, even when I face evil and darkness. Remind me that You are always in control. Amen.
