Hope That Cannot Be Silenced: Day Three
Day 3: The Simplicity of Salvation
Devotional
When the jailer in Acts 16 asked Paul and Silas what he must do to be saved, their answer was simple: 'Believe in the Lord Jesus.' Salvation is not about following a set of rules or rituals; it's about faith in Jesus Christ. This simplicity is a beautiful reminder that the way to be saved is open to anyone because anyone can exercise faith in Jesus when the Lord opens their hearts. You are saved the moment you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. No hoops to jump through, no programs to join, no dues to pay.
And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.”
- Acts 16:31
Reflection Question
Have you embraced the simplicity of salvation through faith in Jesus? If not, what is holding you back?
“Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved. Not a 12-step program to sign up for.
Not an organization to join. No dues to pay, no ritual hoops to jump through. |
Just believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.” — Pastor Mike Mura
Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You for the simplicity of salvation. Help me to trust in You fully and to share this simple yet profound truth with others. Open the hearts of those who do not yet believe. Amen.
