The Deal That Cannot Be Altered: Day Five

Sermon Video

Day 5: Rest, Because the Deal Is Done‍ ‍

Devotional
We've spent this week tracing one of the most encouraging truths in all of Scripture. God made a promise. God kept the promise. And nothing, not your failures, not your doubts, not even the law, can undo what He has done. Like Abraham in that deep sleep, we bring nothing to this arrangement. We cannot earn the blessing. We cannot maintain it through effort. We can only receive it through faith. That is not a weakness in the system. That is the whole point. Grace, by definition, has no strings attached. A gift with conditions is not a gift. And God's favor toward you in Christ is a gift, freely given, generously kept, sealed by the blood of Jesus Himself. So what is the right response to all of this? Not striving. Not fear. Not the exhausting cycle of performing for God's approval. The right response is trust. Gratitude. Rest. You don't have to earn what has already been given. You don't have to maintain what God Himself is holding together. The deal was kept by the Promiser. Go live in the freedom of that today.

so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles,
so that we might receive the promised Spirit through faith. - Galatians 3:14

Reflection Question
What would your life look like this week if you genuinely believed that your standing with God rests entirely on what He has done, not on what you do?

"The way you respond to a promise deal is not with striving, but with trust.
Not with performance, but with gratitude. Not with fear, but with rest." - Pastor Mike Mura

Prayer
Lord, thank You that the deal is done and it rests on You, not on me. Help me to walk in the freedom and rest of Your grace today, responding not with striving but with trust and gratitude. Amen.
