The Other Side of the Storm: Day 1
Day 1: Brought, Not Lucky
Devotional
Life has a way of throwing storms our way - unexpected job loss, health scares, relationship struggles, or financial pressures. In these moments, we often focus solely on survival, hoping to just make it through. But what if God has something more intentional in mind? Paul's shipwreck wasn't just a random disaster he survived by chance. The natives on Malta didn't just happen to be kind. Paul wasn't simply lucky to wash ashore safely. He was brought there by God with purpose. When we shift our perspective from 'surviving' to 'being brought,' everything changes. Our trials aren't meaningless interruptions to our plans - they're divine guidance toward something God wants to accomplish in and through us. The same God who allowed the storm is the God orchestrating where it takes you. Your current struggle isn't the end of your story; it's preparation for the next chapter God is writing.
Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds,
for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. - James 1:2-3
Reflection Question
How might viewing your current challenges as divine appointments rather than random misfortunes change your perspective on what you're facing?
“They didn't just make it. They weren't lucky. They were brought.” — Pastor Mike Mura
Prayer
God, help me trust that You are not just getting me through this storm, but bringing me to something purposeful. Give me eyes to see Your hand at work even in difficult circumstances.
