Too Good to be Man-Made: Day 1
Day 1: The Source That Changes Everything
Devotional
In a world flooded with competing messages about how to live, we desperately need to know which voice to trust. Every day, we're bombarded with promises of the good life through success, achievement, or self-improvement. But Paul makes a stunning claim that cuts through all the noise: his gospel didn't come from human wisdom or religious tradition, but directly from Jesus Christ himself. This isn't just another philosophy or self-help program. When God is the source, everything changes. Human messages always point us inward - try harder, do better, climb higher. But a message from heaven points us to Christ. Paul's transformation from a violent persecutor to a passionate preacher wasn't the result of human persuasion or gradual enlightenment. It was the direct intervention of the living God. The reliability of this message matters more than we might realize. If Paul received this gospel through divine revelation, then it carries the full authority of heaven. It's not subject to human opinion, cultural trends, or personal preference. It stands as God's unchanging truth in a world of shifting voices.
For I would have you know, brothers,
that the gospel that was preached by me is not man's gospel.
— Galatians 1:11
Reflection Question
In what areas of your life are you listening to human voices instead of God's voice, and how might that be affecting your peace and direction?
“Paul's gospel is true because it comes not from the head of man,
but from the heart of God.” — Pastor Mike Mura
Prayer
Lord, help me discern Your voice above all the competing messages in my life. Give me wisdom to trust in Your truth rather than human wisdom.
