Hope When the Sun Doesn’t Shine: Day 2

Day 2: God Speaks in the Storm Devotional
It's interesting that God didn't speak to Paul during the calm before the storm, but right in the middle of the chaos. When the waves were crashing and the ship was breaking apart, that's when heaven's message came. This challenges our assumption that God only speaks in quiet, peaceful moments. Sometimes He speaks loudest when life is loudest. The angel's message wasn't just comfort - it was a reminder of God's unchanging promise that Paul would reach Rome. Notice that God didn't promise smooth sailing; He promised safe arrival. There's a difference. God's voice cuts through our confusion not to eliminate our struggles, but to remind us of His faithful character and unbreakable promises. When you're in the middle of your storm, don't wait for calm to seek God's voice. He's speaking right now, in the chaos.
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
- Isaiah 41:10
Reflection Question
How might God be trying to speak to you through your current difficulties rather than despite them?
“Don't run from God in the storm. Run to Him.” — Pastor Mike Mura
Prayer Father, help me not to run from You in the storm but to run to You. Open my ears to hear Your voice even in the chaos of my circumstances.
