Day 3: Anchored in Promises

Devotional
When everything around Paul was unstable - shifting winds, crashing waves, a breaking ship - he found something unshakeable to hold onto: God's promises. Paul's anchor wasn't in the water; it was in the Word of God. This is crucial because everything else in life can change. Your circumstances shift, your feelings fluctuate, your health varies, your relationships evolve. But God's promises remain fixed and firm. The difference between biblical hope and wishful thinking is what we anchor our souls in. If your hope is tied to circumstances working out a certain way, your soul will drift when those circumstances change. But when you anchor your hope in God's unchanging character and promises, you have something that holds steady no matter how fierce the storm becomes. What is anchoring your soul today? Is it something that can change, or is it the unshakeable Word of God?

We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul,
a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain - Hebrews 6:19‍ ‍

Reflection Question
What promises from God's Word can serve as an anchor for your soul during uncertain times?

“Paul's anchor isn't in the water. It's in the word of God.”
— Pastor Mike Mura‍ ‍

Prayer
God, help me anchor my hope not in changing circumstances but in Your unchanging promises. Let Your Word be the firm foundation that holds me steady.
