How To Run Without Running Out: Day 4

Day 4: The Race is Already Won‍ ‍

Devotional
Imagine spending your entire life training for a race, only to discover that someone else already ran it for you and won. That's exactly what happened when Jesus Christ lived the perfect life you couldn't live and died the death you deserved to die. Through His finished work on the cross, your warfare is ended. The exhausting treadmill of trying to prove your worth has been shut down forever. Christ's own record of righteousness has been handed to you, so when God looks at you, He doesn't see a forgiven ex-convict - He sees an adopted child welcomed to the family dinner table. This changes everything about how you approach life. You can stop lining up at the starting line every morning, trying to justify your existence, because Jesus already proved your worth. You can stop asking your career, your achievements, or your reputation to tell you that you matter, because God has already declared it in Christ. The weariness of striving is over - not because you finally reached the summit, but because Jesus did, and He's credited it to you. This means you can live from rest instead of living for it. You don't have to earn God's love; you already have it. You don't have to prove your value; it's already established. The verdict is in, the work is finished, and the welcome is yours.

For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin,
so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. - 2 Corinthians 5:21

Reflection Question
What would change in your daily life if you truly believed that your worth is already established in Christ?

“You can stop lining up at the starting line to prove your existence is justified,
because Jesus Christ has already proven it for you.
You can stop asking your career or your title or your reputation to tell you that you matter
because God has already said it in Jesus Christ.” — Pastor Mike Mura

Prayer
Jesus, thank You for running the race I could never win and crediting Your victory to me. Help me live from the rest You've provided rather than striving to earn what You've already given.
