Day 4: No Cleaning Required

Devotional
One of the most beautiful aspects of Jesus' love is that it comes without prerequisites. Unlike the world, which often demands we improve ourselves before we're accepted, Jesus offers Himself to us exactly as we are. Many people hesitate to approach Jesus because they feel they need to clean up their lives first. They believe they must fix their problems, overcome their addictions, or become better people before they're worthy of His love. But that completely misunderstands the gospel. Jesus didn't wait for us to clean up our act. He loved us at our worst. While we were still sinners—not after we got better—Christ died for us. He knows every part of you—every thought, every struggle, every failure—and He still chose the cross. This is what makes Jesus such an incredible treasure. He offers all of Himself as a free gift to anyone who will receive Him by faith. You don't have to earn it. You don't have to deserve it. You simply need to recognize your need and accept His gift. Coming to Jesus isn't about bringing your best self; it's about bringing your true self. He already knows you completely and loves you anyway. That's the treasure your heart has been searching for—to be fully known and fully loved simultaneously. Today, resist the urge to clean yourself up before approaching Jesus. Come as you are, and let His love transform you from the inside out.

- Matthew 13:46

Reflection Question
What parts of yourself have you been trying to fix or hide before approaching Jesus, rather than bringing them to Him just as they are?

“You don't have to clean yourself up. You don't have to be perfect.
You just need to come to him in faith and say something like this,
Jesus, I believe you died and rose again for me.
I trust you to forgive me and I want you to be my treasure.”

Prayer
Jesus, thank You for loving me at my worst. Forgive me for thinking I needed to clean myself up before coming to You. I bring my whole self to You today—my struggles, my failures, my fears, and my hopes. Thank You for being the treasure who knows me completely and loves me anyway. Help me rest in Your acceptance today. Amen.
