Day 3: The Life You Were Never Meant to Live Alone

There is a version of the Christian life that looks like gritting your teeth and trying harder. Waking up every morning determined to be more patient, more disciplined, more faithful. And when you fall short, you feel the weight of it like a verdict against you. But that is not the life Paul describes in Galatians 2. He says something far more radical. He says he has been crucified with Christ. The old self that was trying to earn its way, perform its way, and manage its way to God is gone. And the life he now lives is not powered by his own effort. It is powered by the living Christ dwelling within Him. This is not a passive life. It is an active, daily dependence on Someone who is already at work inside you. The difference is the power source. You are not the engine. Christ is. Your role is to trust Him, lean on Him, and stay connected to Him. His role is to live through you. That changes everything about how you face your day. The hard conversation you are dreading, the habit you cannot seem to break, the relationship that feels impossible. You do not have to manufacture the strength for any of it. You have access to the same power that raised Jesus from the dead, and He lives in you right now. You were never meant to do this alone.
I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.
And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God,
who loved me and gave himself for me. - Galatians 2:20

Prayer
Jesus, thank You that You do not just save me and leave me to figure out the rest on my own. Teach me what it means to truly depend on You today, in the moments where I am most tempted to rely on myself. Amen.
